US Virgin Islands - St John Trunk Bay

The U.S. Virgin Islands are a group of tropical islands in the Caribbean and often referred to as America’s Paradise. Located 40 miles east of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands consist of St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix, and they are part of the Lesser Antilles. These islands were part of the Danish West Indies until 1916, when they were sold to the U.S. With a tropical climate similar to Jamaica or the Dominican Republic, US Virgin Islands Travel has the same laid-back and irie vibe that is commonly associated with those islands. From snorkeling and sunset cruises to fishing and national parks, each of the three islands has its own unique charm, and the best way to experience US Virgin Islands Travel is to do a little Jimmy Buffet style island hopping. Over two million people visit USVI each year, and as they say down in the tropics: Anytime you want to visit is a good time to visit.

Visit St. Thomas

St. Thomas is the largest of the three islands as well as the economic and tourist hub. Charlotte Amalie, the capital of the territory, is a major destination for cruise ships. Dronningens Gade is the main thoroughfare in Charlotte Amalie, and its cobbled street is lined with colorful Danish architecture. It is a mecca for duty-free shopping, and locals say there are over 100 jewelry stores in Charlotte Amalie. Traditional Caribbean cuisine like red snapper, grouper, jerk chicken, rice and plantains can be found in St. Thomas, and high-quality rum is ubiquitous at every seaside bar and upscale lounge. US Virgin Islands Travel is all about enjoying the good life.

Visit St. John

While St. John is the smallest of the three Virgin Islands, many people agree that it is the most beautiful. Less built-up and touristy than the island of St. Thomas, St. John is composed of 28 square miles. Cruz Bay, which is known as Love City to the locals, is where you will find the restaurants, gifts shops and funky boutiques. The beauty of St. John, however, is that two thirds of the island is a national park; in other words, US Virgin Islands Travel is not all about restaurants and shopping. Some people come to the islands to get away from it all, and St. John is world-renown for its eco-tourism.

Instead of taking the ferry, people will book a quick flight on CapeAir or Seaborne Airlines; however, space is limited.
